My Passion and Experience:
I have great passion for people and am working to do what’s best for our city and state. That, along with my corporate background and work among neighborhood advocates and city leaders over the years, positions me as the best candidate. as the best candidate to serve on the Brooklyn Park City Council.
JOB CREATION AND COMMUNITY ADVOCATE EXPERIENCE
I’ve been actively working for non-profit agencies, boards of executives, committee work groups, schools and organizations in the twin cities over the last 30 years. While employed at INROADS, Inc., I managed its job placement program to recruit, train and employ hundreds of college graduates to work at Minnesota fortune 500 companies.
I also helped build a welfare-to-work program for WomenVenture to help participants get employed and become self reliant in supporting their families.
I’m a proponent of engaging the Brooklyn Park community in major decisions that affect them. For the Bottineau Blue Line Extension Light Rail station area planning project, I worked to personally engage hundreds of residents in Brooklyn Park and nearby cities to ensure their voices were heard as the plans were designed and developed for the Bottineau project. If elected to Brooklyn Park City Council, I’ll continue to inform and engage residents about issues important to them so we can work together in making Brooklyn Park a model city.
